I'm wined out, are you? Let's try something new. How about a beer tasting? We'll pair four 6-oz. glasses of selected beer with four gourmet cheeses:
- Roaring 40's Blue with Hopsquatch (this beer was voted best brew for wine snobs by The New Times!)
- Bandaged Cheddar with Raj IPA
- Red Dragon & Mustard Seed with Kilt Lifter Scottish amber

The Scottsdale 5th Avenue Fine Art & Wine Festival will provide unequaled wine tasting, live musical entertainment, gourmet food, mouthwatering chocolate, and 125 juried fine artists from throughout the United States and abroad. For $10, patrons will receive an engraved souvenir wine glass with six tasting tickets, allowing patrons to indulge in wine and stroll the only street of its kind in the Valley where locals and visitors enjoy the sidewalk and garden cafes sprinkled among a variety of boutiques and galleries. The group will most likely pick a place to go to lunch.
Do you have off Monday for President's Day? Looking for something to do on a Sunday night? Join us for Live Music Sunday with Todd & Alan, an acoustic duo, at Armitage Wine Bar in DC Ranch. We've been here for happy hours before, but not for the quieter, more intimate lounge setting - a perfect end to Valentine's Weekend. Music starts at 8 pm, as does the 25% discount on your bill (8 pm - close). I'll be there around 7, and may have an extra surprise for anyone who shows up around the same time.
UPDATE: Since Jug N Barrel has unfortunately closed, we will be holding this tasting at Arrowhead Grill, instead. Arrowhead Grill is a recent and welcome addition to the West Valley. It's an upscale steakhouse, so has a better than average bar menu (think duck sliders and house-smoked salmon). The Chef has worked with numerous celebrity chefs and is now bringing his remarkable skills to AZ. It's a little further west than initially planned, but well worth the trip, just outside the 101 on Union Hills Dr.
