Latin Wines @ Bomberos
Kim Hartleroad is a walking encyclopedia of wine knowledge! In fact, he was one of the first wine professionals I met when I first moved here to Arizona. His latest gig is hosting tastings the first Monday of each month at Bomberos Café & Wine Bar. If you haven't been there, you need to check this place out! Housed in an old firehouse on Central, it's comfortable inside, and even better outside in the courtyard (especially next to a fire pit).
Tonight's presentation will be: New World Wines - Blended to Perfection. Kim will discuss what blending adds to wines and how South America is showing some really good blends now that include Cabernet, Carmenere, Bonarda, Malbec, Syrah, etc. We will sample 4 wines: a Pinot Gris (white), then 3 red blends. Make plans now to join us at one of our favorite places for an entertaining and informative evening.
Cost is $25/person (plus tax & tip) for appetizers, delicious wines, and educational program. Tasting fee is payable at the venue that evening. Note that I must give them a firm headcount the morning of Friday 1/29, so please do not change your RSVP after that time. Please RSVP at www.meetup.com/VinVillage-Phoenix
Since this event is open to the public, I expect it might be quite crowded, so get there early to ensure the best seats. (We will have a few tables reserved.)
