It's been a while since we've tasted South African wines, so let's see what's new in that region. The wines we will taste are two whites, a rose, and 2 reds:

Simonsig Brut Rose
Simonsig Chenin Blanc
Simonsig Sauvignon Blanc
Simonsig Pinotage
Nandi Zulu Cabernet

A representative from the distributorship will tell us a little about each one, and have printed information for you to take notes and take with you. Cost for the tasting is $10, plus tax and tip (figure about $13) for 5 generous 3-oz. pours. Javinos will charge each member separately for the tasting as they arrive. In addition, Javino's will extend their 7 for $7 appetizer discount until 8 pm for our group (usually runs 'til 7 pm). That's a selection of 7 appetizers for $7 each, to mix and match: Hot Wings, Chicken Quesadillas, Baby-Back Pork Ribs, Ground Beef Sliders, Chicken Skewers, Spinach & Artichoke Dip, and Beef Skewers. The regular menu will be available as well. We will have separate checks, and you can pay your own way as you go that night should you wish to order the appetizers or additional libations. Also, the wines from the tasting will be available by the bottle. Should you wish to join Javinos Wine Club, you will receive a discount on bottle purchases that night.
Please note that I will need to give them a headcount no later than Tuesday, 8/11, so please be considerate and do not change your RSVP after that time. We've had many no shows lately and if I notice a trend with you, you will be removed from the group!
