Immerse yourself in the history and heritage of Zinfandel, while delving into the latest Zinfandel trends and the timely topic on the art of blending. Five top Zinfandel winemakers will each present a quintessential Zinfandel, the embodiment of Zinfandel’s legacy to California winemaking. And, for the first time at Flights, each panelist will also feature a proprietary Zinfandel-based red wine, blending other grapes with California’s Heritage wine, to produce wine styles with flavors from casual to sophisticated.

From the beginning of Zinfandel winemaking in California dating back to the 1800s, Zinfandel has had bedmates. What tradition does blending represent in California winemaking in general and to Zinfandel in particular? Why is Zinfandel different from other varieties grown in California? Why do these winemakers think blending enhances their wine and what other grapes are they including in their blends? This spirited conversation promises to engage your curiosity, tantalize your taste buds and, test your nose with an in-depth sensory exploration.
