it's going to be so much fun!
Today was suppose to be the drawing for the 25 Free Zinfest ticket winners but I haven't seen them announced yet. I haven't been notified so I'm assuming I didn't win?? Can anyone confirm whether the drawing has taken place and the winners notified?
I haven't been notified either, boo! I really wanted to go! :)
I've been planning on attending but will wait a few more days to see if I'll need to buy tix. Good luck to all who enter the drawing.

I'll be at the Friday night dinner. I'm dying to try the 12 best zins this year. The contest only happens every other year, and the mixed case from 2007 had some fabulous surprises.

I was pleasantly surprised to get a phone call from Rob Barnett of VinVillage letting me know that I was one the lucky winners for a free ticket to the Lodi Zinfest. It was two days before the event, so luckily I didn't have anything special planned. The weather report was predicting 100 degrees on Saturday, so I trekked on down from Woodland (about an hour drive) and was there when it opened (12:00). Everything was very organized....shuttle service, entranceway and ID checking. The setting was very pretty on Lodi Lake with plenty of trees around for shade. Wineries were spotted throughout and there was also live entertainment, vendors, food and cooking demonstrations. I enjoyed the cooking demonstration under the tent to relax awhile. After the demonstration, they sampled out the shrimp cervechi along with a white wine that paired with it. People were really enjoying themselves, although it was getting quite warm for me! I'd highly recommend the zinfest next year. Hopefully the weather will cooperate because it hasn't the past two years with 100 degree temperatures! Thanks again Rob!
