The San Francisco Wine Association (SFWA) is comprised of small, premium wineries that are producing high-end wines in the San Francisco Bay Area, with many crushing, bottling, blending, and barreling right in the heart of downtown San Francisco.

Each vintner is unique; some favoring a "New World" style of winemaking; some focusing on just a single varietal; some making 100% organic wines. But all share a common desire: to make first-class, 90+ point wines. As artisan winemakers, they also desire a close, personal connection with their customers, and each welcomes the opportunity to invite new friends to enjoy their wines.

Winemakers
Each SFWA winery has an outstanding winemaker with extensive experience making highly-acclaimed, award-winning wines. Many of these wines have been featured in Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, and other respected industry periodicals.

Vineyards
SFWA wineries typically source their fruit from premier California, Oregon, and Washington vineyards, many of which have themselves become famous for producing amazing fruit and ultimately 90-100 point wines. All of these vineyards are managed by passionate growers with long track records of agricultural excellence, respect for the land, and devotion to the craft of fine winemaking.

Tastings and events
Because of their limited production and focused investment on producing outstanding wines, SFWA wineries do not have tasting rooms. Wines can be sampled at SFWA tastings as well as at trade and community events. If you'd like to have SFWA wineries to pour at your next function, please contact VinVillage-Events.

John Tarabini co-founded the San Francisco Wine Association, along with his wife, after crafting their own Damian Rae Winery at Crushpad of San Francisco. The ah-ha moment came when the Tarabini's prioritized putting their money into buying the best possible grapes and not a destination tasting room. They soon realized that other Citizen Winemakers at Crushpad of San Francisco were in the same winemaking virtual place in time and in business for the long haul to craft small lots of fine wine in the city of San Francisco as a family-run winery. Sixteen brands is better than one in terms of marketing the concept of an alliance of San Francisco wineries.
