Segment-1: Wine Organizations - "American Grand Cru Society" Embarks on a Campaign to Classify the Best in Class US Vineyards - Greg Poirier

01: Gregoire Poirier is a credentialed Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers since 1995. Feeding an intellectual curiosity he received a Masters of Business Administration from L’Ecole de Management in Bordeaux, France. An entrepreneur with a background in wine, hospitality, and technology he is always looking ahead. Now he’s on a quest to recognize and classify the best in class vineyards across the U.S. as Founder of The American Grand Cru Society. In spending months and years researching and traveling to the most important wine regions of the world he believes that great wines come from great vineyards. His background includes import/export, buying, and hosting private wine tours to Bordeaux for Calvert Woodley in Washington DC, and with private clients to Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, and the Southern Rhone Valley. Segment-2: Wine Organizations - American Grand Cru Society Priority is Unbiased Recognition for Best in Class American Vineyards and Wines - Greg Poirier

02: Grand Cru is a universally known trade term to describe best in class vineyards that identify a specific place of origin, and vineyard specific qualities that express themselves in unique wine influences. In late 2006 and early 2007 Gregoire Poirier set out to protect the term "American Grand Cru®" from being misused in the future. He registered the term with the US Patent and Trade Office. Now the term can not be used legally by any self appointment or marketing campaign. The American Grand Cru Society® is an association of consumers and wine trade experts who are committed to identify and recognize our best in class American Grand Cru® vineyards.
