Segment-3: Wine & Food - Best Food Writing 2011 "Befriending Your Palate" from Reading Between the Wines - Terry Theise

03: I owe a thanks to Holly Hughes, Editor of Best Food Writing 2011, just released from Da Capo Press, because in it she includes a chapter by wine importer Terry Theise aptly titled "Befriending Your Palate" from his book titled Reading Between the Wines. He likes to use big words like 'anthropomorphic' but bottom line... his message is powerful: "....still your ego and listen."

His articles have appeared in The World of Fine Wine magazine. He was Wine & Spirits magazine’s Man of the Year in 2001 and Food & Wine mag’s Importer of the Year in 2006. "We often think of palate as our physical taste receptor, the mouth itself, and, more saliently, the sense of smell. But a palate is more than what you taste; it is your relationship with what you taste."
