Bonterra Vineyards, McNab Ranch, Mendocino County just released its 2008 dry Rose nationally, following limited availability of the well-received first vintage in selected states. Whole Foods will carry the wine in every store nationwide, and the wine will also be available overseas. The second vintage continues as a blend led by Sangiovese, Zinfandel and Syrah, with touches of Rhone varietals such as Carignane, Grenache and Mouvedre adding to the crisp, bright taste. With a beautiful Salmon color, winemaker Robert Blue finds “aromas and flavors of strawberry, tart cherry, fragrant tea, luscious raspberries, some watermelon, a touch of spice and vanilla in a lingering, unexpectedly joyful finish.”

Fourth segment of this weeks Show: Film Producer and Winemaker Guy Riedel partners with San Francisco Wine Association - Guy Riedel
Guy Riedel was born in New Jersey, earned an MBA from Rutgers University, a 15-year movie producer veteran and happens to be a workaholic.... presently dividing his time between NYC as Executive Producer of Morning Glory with Harrison Ford and Rachel McAdams and his home-base of LA. Like all workaholics, he sought out a hobby to "relax" which thankfully, for us, ends up being his new passion.... as a winemaker for "Guy Riedel Wines: Fine Wines. Hand Made. No Compromise." His current offerings include a 2005 and 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and a 2006 Santa Barbara County Syrah which he crafts at Crushpad in San Francisco with the help of consulting winemaker Kian Tavakoli. Guy Riedel Wines are available through the San Francisco Wine Association for tasting in SF. The timeline for producing a film, from start to finish, closely parallels that of producing fine red wines, as you will hear.
