First segment of this weeks Show: Dancing Bears Eat Cakebread Cellar's Cabernet Sauvignon on Howell Mountain, Napa Valley - Dennis Cakebread

For more than 30 years, Cakebread Cellars has been committed to promoting the enjoyment of wine with food and the sharing in the pleasures of the table. Dennis Cakebread explains how Dancing Bear Ranch, on Howell Mountain, Napa Valley, above the fog line, earned it's name. Planted to classic red Bordeaux varieties, with cabernet sauvignon predominating, Dancing Bear Ranch is nestled among steep slopes at elevations ranging from 1,800 to 2,200 feet. The vineyard is named for the omnivorous black bear that has long enjoyed feasting on their mountain grapes as they approach ripeness. The 2006 is a blend of 79% cabernet sauvignon, 17% merlot and 4% cabernet franc.

Second segment of this weeks Show: Napa's Clos Pegase Winery is Global Winner in Art and Culture category Great Wine Capitals International Competition - Jan Shrem

Clos Pegase Winery has been named the 2010 Global Winner in the Art and Culture category in the Great Wine Capitals International Competition. The winners were announced at Château Giscours in Margaux, a past Best Of Wine Tourism winner, who hosted 250 members of the Bordeaux wine trade, local and regional personalities and the delegates from nine countries to the Great Wine Capitals Global Network annual general meeting for the 7th annual international ‘Best Of Wine Tourism’ awards ceremony. “My wife Mitsuko and I have devoted our lives to wine and the arts and it is our passion to share our enthusiasm and further the enhancement of culture in our community and the world,” said Founder/Proprietor, Jan Shrem.

Third segment of this weeks Show: Aussie Left-Handed Winemaker Advises Everyone to Do The MOLLYDOOKER SHAKE - Sparky Marquis

For 12 years, Sparky Marquis (pronounced Mar-kwis) has been "WOW"ing wine fans around the world with his award-winning Australian wines made for such brands as Fox Creek, Henry's Drive, Parsons Flat, Shirvington, Marquis Philips, Integrity, and now Mollydooker, Adelaide, South Australia. Along with his wife, Sarah, they are responsible for crafting four of only 24 Australian wines to receive 99 points from Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate in the last 10 years. Starting in 2005, Mollydooker Wines became the only wines that Sarah and Sparky make. What separates Mollydooker wines from the pack, the answer is "It's our Watering Programme and Fruit Weight, mate."

Fourth segment of this weeks Show: Napa's Peju Province Winery Earns Six Top Reviews in December 2009 Wine Enthusiast Magazine - Sara Fowler

Peju Winery, family owned and operated for more than 25 years, has just received 90-plus scores from Wine Enthusiast Magazine in the December, 2009 issue, on six of their current Napa Valley wines. The Peju 2006 Fifty/Fifty, a blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, received the highest accolade with a ‘94’ out of a possible 100-point score. Heimoff also awarded the 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon a ‘93’, the 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Franc a ‘91’, the 2006 Napa Valley Merlot a ‘91’, the 2006 Napa Valley Zinfandel a ‘90’ and the 2008 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc a ‘90’. The 2006 red wines mark the first vintage that Peju Winemaker Sara Fowler has overseen from vine to bottle. All of the featured Peju wines were produced using estate-grown fruit sourced from the family’s certified organic Rutherford Vineyard and sustainably farmed Persephone Vineyard.
