Third segment of this weeks Show: Champagne J. Lassalle Headed by Three Generations of Premier Cru Women - Angeline Lassalle

Angeline Lassalle is the 3rd generation granddaughter of founder Jules Lassalle, who founded the domaine in 1942. He always insisted on doing everything himself, tending his own vines, and making his own wines, refusing to sell to negociants. He died a tragic early death and his daughter Chantale took over the domaine with her mother's help. Angeline is now at the domaine full-time and she and her mother Chantale make all the decisions together. The Preference cuvee is predominately 65 percent Pinot Meunier, 25 percent Chardonnay, and ten percent Pinot Noir. Vintage Angeline cuvee is 60 percent PN and 40 percent Chard. All the Lassalle vineyards are on the Montagne de Reims and all of their fruit is premier cru.
