Second segment of this weeks Show: Rock Wall Wine Co. Urban Winemaking in Alameda, California - Shauna Rosenblum

Shauna Rosenblum enjoyed a 'life-living-installation' in wine. As a wee child she accompanied her parents on tasting treks to wineries, quickly picking up the lingo.... "tank sample please?!" much to her mother's horror, her father, Kent Rosenblum's pride. An intuitive young woman, she says of herself, "I'm a Visual-Kinesthetic Learner," thus her fascination with Fine Arts and Ceramics. While obsessing over a graduate work project, she realized a connection to chemistry while working in ceramic glaze-making that crossed-over, eventually, to winemaking. As Winemaker for Rock Wall Wine Co. in Alemeda, California, she stays close to family while pursuing her artistic expressions on a wine canvas.

Becky Sue Epstein reports from a 17th century fish restaurant outside of Lisbon on the G5 state of wine affairs in Portugal... primed to embark on a serious marketing campaign across the US. Epstein informs us with her usual high energy and enthusiasm that dry rose wines are delicious, yet not yet exported; the whites are perfect with fish and seafood; and the dry reds will present new exciting experiences, indigenous varietals one-by-one, vintage-by-vintage, inching closer to a 100 percent Portuguese blend, sans international grapes!
