1st segment of this weeks Show: Zocker Winery's rare domestic "Gru-Vee" from Edna Valley in CaliforniaChristian Roguenant

The Nivens' Paragon Vineyard, one of the first in the region, was originally planted by Jack Niven in the early 1970s. It became SIPTM Certified Sustainable in 2008, the inaugural year of the program. Twelve acres on the estate were planted to Grüner Veltliner for the Zocker project. With Zocker, Niven Family Wine Estates cements its reputation as an innovative California Central Coast wine company. Named for an Austrian word that translates as "Gambler," Zocker is the Niven family's first foray into making Grüner Veltliner, an Austrian white varietal rarely grown in the U.S. Winemaker Christian Roguenant went to northern Austria in 2006, and immersed himself in the Old World ways of planting and making Grüner Veltliner. Third segment of this weeks Show: Master Wine Cellar Builder Educates Consumer... Buyer Beware - John Seitz

John Seitz made his transition from house builder (about 20 years) to wine cellar builder 15 years ago. When he decided to build wine cellars he knew that he would have to excel to the top as fast as possible. He studied everything that he could about wine cellars. He studied with as many manufactures as he could. He went to their plants all over the country, from Ohio to New Hampshire to California. When he thought he was ready for the big time he applied with one of the biggest names in the business, The Wine Enthusiast Magazine. After six months of trying, they finally gave him the chance. He subsequently put an RV on the road which quickly became known as the "Wine Cellar RV."

Fourth segment of this weeks Show: Master Wine Cellar Builder Clientele Includes CEO's, Celebrities and Sports Figures - John Seitz

For John Seitz, it wasn't easy, when he started his new career, as he puts it, "I was a nobody in the wine cellar business." Pictures of wine cellars and the title Master Wine Cellar Builder on an RV attracted a lot of attention. Wineries began treating him as VIP. As the years went by he continued to study... the latest cooling, racking, insulation... anything that was required for building the perfect wine cellar. Now he is one the few in the U.S. that understands the ins and outs of a wine cellar, from the consultation to design to construction to install the racking. He just finished a wine cellar for Regis Philbin. His work includes Ruth's Chris Steakhouses and Ghirardelli Chocolates. Seitz is resident wine cellar expert for Celebrity Wine Review TV. Upcoming features include Ladue News Magazine, Westchester Magazine, Maverick Magazine, and Wine Spectator.

WineFairy chats with Jason Westfall of The Wine Line Shuttle; Chef Bertrand Bouquin and Timothy Baldwin from The Broadmoor Resort; and with Becky Sue Epstein on Vinoble

First segment of this weeks Show: The Wine Line Shuttle Service Hop On Hope Off New Approach to Touring Paso Robles Wine Country - Jason Westfall

The Wine Line, launched in early 2009, has taken a totally different approach to wine tasting tours. They offer a hop on, hop off tour approach that operates much like a city bus does. They pick you up at your accommodations and then you get to choose from 60 wineries to visit. They take you to your selected winery, walk you in and introduce you to the tasting staff, then return in 40 minutes to see if you are ready to be picked up, if not, no problem they come back every 40 minutes. The whole concept, which has been a humongous hit in Paso Robles, was born from owner/operator Jason Westfall's bad experience on a tasting tour he and some friends took.

It is held every two years in Jerez de la Frontera, the Andalusian city that share its name with one of the most famous wines made in Spain.
